Votes, Signings, and a Giveaway!

bird on a tree

First: How do you all like the new website? I’ve been wanting a more professional website for a while now and I finally got it done! It’s a little bare right now, but we’ll be adding more to it soon, including….(drum roll)….a store. That’s right. A store is built into my website so that when I get my act together and have some awesome Edenbrooke and Blackmoore stuff to sell, you can get it right here. Also, if you’re not already following me on Facebook, click the little “f” button on the homepage. I post there more frequently than I do here. You can also follow my Pinterest boards, (look for the Pinterest symbol under “Social” on the home page) where I have my inspirations for my stories, including the photo above. I also have some mildly embarrassing photos of myself as a kid on my Bio page. Go and have a good laugh for the day. And, you’re welcome.

Second: The Proper Romance tour is happening this weekend in Arizona! Sarah M. Eden and I will be signing books in Phoenix and Tucson. Check the Events page for details. I’m really excited to meet all of you lovely readers in Arizona and I hear it’s in the 70’s down there right now, which sounds like heaaaaaven. If you’re not in the land of the winter sun (is that what you call AZ? Doubt it. But that is what I’m calling it now) check out the Events page for more dates and locations.

Third: Thanks to the combined awesomeness of all of you, Blackmoore made it to the semi-final round of the Goodreads Choice Awards! This is such a big deal, because they were all write-in votes, and I really appreciate your efforts to vote for my story. So let’s see if we can get it into the final round! Go here to vote.

Fourth: If you vote for Blackmoore, come back here and leave a comment and you’ll be entered into a giveaway! Voting ends on November 16th, and after that I’ll randomly pick a winner and send you a signed audio (CD) version of Blackmoore. (By the way, I was talking to someone about how I still call audio books “books on tape”, even though they’re not on TAPE anymore. Does anyone else do this? Or am I just making myself sound really old?) So go vote, and leave a comment, and if you share your vote on Facebook or Twitter, say so in the comment and it will get you extra chances of winning!

I voted for you before you posted this!!! I seriously love your books!!! Can’t wait to share with My daughter when she is a bit older. Can’t express how thankful I m for clean love stories!!! Keep up the great work!

  2. Adrienne Everitt says:

I voted for Blackmoore 🙂 I love the new website–and no, you are not the only person who still calls audiobooks “Books on tape”. I worked at a library up until 7 months ago (when I quit to be a stay at home mom) and people would always ask if we had such-and-such a book on tape, and we had to clarify if they really meant on tape or if they meant on CD because we had both books on tape and books on CD, and usually they wanted it on CD, not tape.

  3. Alissa says:

I loved Edenbrooke and look forward to reading Blackmoore. My mother loves “books on tape” and listens to them in the car. You aren’t old, neither is she. (I always say rewind instead of advance with the dvr. I tell myself it’s cute and that it gives my children and husband reasons to laugh.)

  4. Julie Seavey says:

I voted! I would love the audio version of Blackmoore! Since I’ve been reading it and Edenbrooke over and over maybe I could actually get some housework done if I could listen to it…but possibly not. And I slip up and call them books on tape all the time…my husband teases me mercilessly when I do 🙂

  5. Katie says:

I voted two days ago!! Loved it and hope it wins. 🙂 For the record, I still call them “books on tape” too. I keep catching myself and call them “books on cd” but “audio books” sounds much better. Maybe someday I’ll get with it and then I’m sure it’ll be called something else. Ha!

  6. Jessica Bohannon says:

I wrote in a vote for you and voted for you in the semi finals on Goodreads:) I really hope you win!! Love your books!

  7. Susan Cook says:

I voted and hope you win. We loved reading BOTH book for book club. (and yes I still catch myself saying “books on tape”) Arizona loves you!

    Cute story I’m sure you’ll love….
A friend of mine had your book (Edenbrooke) and brought it along on a ward (church) family campout. She read to her family during the drive to the campsite. They set up camp and circled around with camp chairs and she continued to read. Meanwhile the group of listeners began to grow as she read on into the evening. The next morning there was quite a group all squealing and swooning. My friend read during the drive home and found they were just a dozen or so pages from finishing as they pulled into their driveway. She told her kids as soon as the car was unpacked and the camping gear put away, she’d finish off the book. She reports that she’d never seen such efficiency from her kids. Soon they were gathered together again for the last few pages. After that weekend she received calls to borrow her book now most families I know have a copy on their shelves. It was fun looking ahead together as we waited for Blackmore to be released.

I voted for you with all my heart! You are such an inspiration! I have been trying to get a hand on your Blackmoore book but man I just can’t find a good deal or win any contests 😛 and I am also in line of your book in 2 libraries. My husband doesn’t understand how much I want to buy this book. lol He is very frugal. Again thank you for all you do to change the look of the romance book industry. Books don’t need all the dirty stuff to make it an amazing book. 🙂

  9. Connie Fischer says:

    Hi, Julianne!

I do like your new website and just want to let you know that I did vote for Blackmoore on Goodreads. I will share my vote on Facebook and Twitter as well. I shared the reviews I wrote of both of these novels on our blog, bookworm2bookworm and we were so happy to promote you there. Both Edenbrooke and Blackmoore were fabulous novels and I cannot tell you how I eagerly await your next book. Your talent is amazing and I do hope you will soon have something more to share with your readers.

    Thank you so much!

    Connie Fischer

i think i get extra points since i posted my voting on FB before you even posted this. 🙂 LOL.

way to class up the category my friend – you are a star. XXXOOOOOXxxxxoooo

  11. Marsha Saenz-Jones says:

I voted and shared on Facebook. I’m really cheering for you! Your website does indeed look professional and I look forward to the shopping aspect. I hope your tour makes it’s way to Southern California, but in the meantime I’m sending my daughter to your Phoenix signing. Enjoy your stay there!

  12. No matter what the results of the Goodreads Choice Awards, your book is hands down the best romance of the year. Delightful, blush-worthy and best of all classy, Blackmoore embodies everything that romance should be. Your books leave me positively giddy!

  13. Melissa says:

Don’t sign me up to win anything. Someone else who doesn’t own the book:) But I wanted you to know I posted it on my Facebook page and many people who haven’t read it but wanted to make a point about clean books voted for you:) I think this is all just so awesome that a good clean book is being recognized in the romance catagory!!! Good luck.

  14. Danae says:

I also voted before you posted this on your blog. I love your books so much, I give them away as birthday gifts so my friends all love your books too.

  15. Kayla says:

I voted!! And don’t worry, I call them books on tape all the time! I actually miss them on tapes because when you pushed stop you could start it up at the exact place you left off, you can’t do that with a CD!

  16. Alisha says:

I was one of those who wrote-in Blackmoore because it’s such an amazing story and I think it’s important that people realize that a romance can (and should) still be clean. I voted again and hope you make it into the final round!

  17. Christine says:

I voted! I’m looking forward to seeing you signing close to my home in Dec. I’ll try to gather a bunch of ladies together to go to the signing. 🙂

  18. Jeanne says:

I voted! Thank you for sharing your talent and providing us with so much enjoyment. Just reading your novels is a win!

  19. Amber says:

Do we get another extra vote if we wrote in Blackmoore for the first round of Goodreads too? If so, I did that too! I wrote it in and voted the first round, voted for the semi finals and shared it on my wall for my friends to vote too 🙂 I LOVE Blackmoore, one of my favorite books of all time (and I read like a book a day almost so that is saying a LOT). I wish you had a thousand more books. I would read them all, you are an AMAZING writer.

  20. Courtney Drennan says:

I voted for you!! I love Edenbrooke and can’t wait to read everything else you write, including Blackmoore!

  21. Tildie says:

I voted for Blackmoore! I also shared it on Facebook a few days ago! You deserve to win, so many of the other nominated books looked too racy in my opinion. Good luck!

  22. Angela Kashow says:

I am SO thrilled that people are voting for Blackmoore! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this book! You are an amazing writer Julianne! Both of your books are incredible and I hope more and more people read them. It is so great to have a CLEAN romance that continues to possess my thoughts long after I finish reading it. Can’t wait for your next book! 🙂

  23. Mary says:

I voted for Blackmoore! And I voted on my husband’s goodreads account, i hope he is not upset when his friends see he voted for a romance novel 🙂

Thank you for your clean books, I am obsessed with them!

  24. Karalee says:

I voted!! I love your style of writing and absolutely loved Blackmoore! Yes, I still call it book on tape. haha

  25. April Wanner says:

I most certainly voted (before this post actually!) AND posted it to my Facebook wall. SO excited that those write-ins made such a difference. LET’S MAKE THIS HAPPEN! Yay for fantastic, clean romance!!

  26. Chrissy Gavin says:

I voted for Blackmore before this post too! I LOVE that you are going to do a store! I am so excited! Both your books are permanently on my bedside table…to read over and over again. And I tell everyone about your books that I can! : )

  27. Rebekah Mahoney says:

Of course I voted for Blackmoore! You Julianne Donaldson are the giver of my hearts desires! Clean, romantic, giggle worthy novels! Blackmoore deserves to win best romance because without a doubt, it is the best of the best!

  28. Susan Norto says:

I am happy to cast my vote for your great novel. When I finish one of your stories I often wish it would be turned into a movie. The more I’ve thought about it though, I’m not that sure I would love that because I don’t know if it could be as amazing as it was in my own imagination. Your books are a wonderful escape when I occasionally need that. I don’t know how many times I have already read them! Can’t wait for the next one!

  29. I voted, tweeted, facebooked, retweeted, etc., and so definitely put my name in the drawing for your book on tape. I’m so proud of you, Julie! And this website is fabulous. You inspire me.

  30. Julie says:

Voted for Blackmoore and shared it on Facebook. Thanks for writing such fun clean books. They are some of my favorites and have reread them both. I hope you win on good reads and yes I still call them books on tape too, which confuses my daughter who doesn’t know what a tape is.

  31. Katie says:

I voted for you!! Blackmoore is our Book Clubs book next month, and I am reading it again!! Thank you for sharing your talent with us!

  32. Patsy Matthews says:

I voted for your book before I knew about the giveaway. I would absolutely love an audio version of Blackmoore! I’ve recommended your books to my family and friends and given copies to my daughters and daughters-in-laws! They love your books too! Thanks for sharing your wonderful talent!

  33. Maggie says:

I just found your books last week and am in love. I live in tucson and can’t wait to meet you this weekend, eek!’ And I voted for you

  34. Emily Fugal says:

I voted for Blackmoore, of coarse. And I still call them “books on tape” too, but I am noticing that a lot of people do too. I guess it’s a catchy phrase! I love your books! Thanks!

  35. Susanna Murray says:

I have voted for Blackmoore! Thank you for creating such wonderful characters, their stories have delighted me!

  36. Elizabeth says:

I voted for Blackmoore and tried to share on Facebook and G+, I hope it worked! Loved Blackmoore and so do many, many of my friends. I will pass this along and tell them to vote.

  37. Katie says:

I voted!!! I hope Blackmoore wins. It is an amazing and beautiful book. Can’t wait to see what you decide to write next.

  38. Cheri Eagar says:

I voted for Blackmoore! I love your books, I am listening to Edenbrooke for I think the third time and I have read Blackmoore and Edenbrooke two times! Love your books, keep writing!

  39. Melissa says:

Absolutely in love with your characters, all of them!
And yes, I still say books on tape, cuz it just sounds better. 🙂

  40. Jessica Fluckiger says:

Voted! Even if your book wasn’t the most enjoyable, make-your-heart-heart book of them all, the covers of the others would have chased me to yours anyway. They are icky!

    I hope you win!! 🙂

  41. I voted for Blackmoore in both rounds and am so happy that it is still there!!!

I will be seeing you in Tucson on Saturday. Phoenix is actually closer, but we have a family thing and so I am driving two hours to see you guys. I will try not to be too much of a fan-geek. I am SO excited. I’m going to bring my mother-in-law with me even though she hasn’t read any of your books. I need to change that!

  42. Janae Mitchell says:

Regardless of whether you’d ever choose me or not to “win”, I’m already a winner because I’ve read “Edenbrooke” AND “Blackmoore” SEVERAL TIMES!! You REALLY are the BEST!! 🙂

  43. Chivouayi says:

I voted! I can’t even begin to describe how endearing of a novel Blackmoore is after reading it the first time. I can’t wait to read it again. Love it! Love it! Love it!

  44. Melanie Coombs says:

I voted in both rounds! Blackmoore deserves to win! Thank you for sharing your talents with us and for writing clean romance books. I also posted on Facebook. I love books on tape/CD and listen to them frequently!

  45. Cami says:

I voted! I love Blackmoore and would happily vote for something clean and good and still romantic to the core! And, yes, I still slip and call them books on tape, also. he he. I guess we are dated a little.

  46. LuAnn says:

I voted! I love your cover, I love your book – most of the other covers were very uncomfortable to look at. I sure hope you win! Thank you for writing clean, proper romance novels. Your books are totally awesome!

  47. Rachel says:

I voted for it! I do not have Facebook or twitter, so I could not post it there, but if I did I would have. I LOVE your books so much, it definitely deserves to win!!!

  48. I totally voted in both rounds! And got my book group ladies to vote AND my friends who haven’t read it yet to vote (and then I gave them a copy so they COULD read it)! I LOVE your books! 🙂

  49. Amy says:

I love your new site, it looks beautiful! I lived for Blackmoore, and I’m dying for it to win!!! Good luck!
